The son is worse than the father?

If recent reports, including this one from the New York Times, are to be believed, then the heir to the dictatorship that is North Korea will be worse.

That's scary.

Considering that Dear Leader Kim Jong-il has shown to be ineffectual while being ruthless, one can only imagine the plight that would await North Koreans if hsi third son -- the purported heir -- does indeed assume power from his father.

If you are even remotely aware of Dear Leader, you know he is a recluse who spends little time outside the country. It is believed his most recent visit abroad was to China (almost no other nation will want to meet him, for what that is worth), where he was reduced to begging for food for his people.

That is not leadership. That is not even up to standards of a dictator. That instead is a sign of a failed state.
