NBC News reported tonight that there is mounting evidence that Libyan leader Col. Moammar Qaddafi is in the final stages of a departure from his country.
The network indicates that American officials are suggesting that Qaddafi could be gone within days.
The potential for a departure comes as the rebels that have been fighting for regime change over five months say they are confident they are winning. As The Independent reports, the rebels are emboldened despite a growing number of casualties.
Nonsense, the Libyan government says; it remains in charge.
But tonight the answer to the question "but for how long?" might be "sooner than you think."
