The biggest threat facing the U.S. today is...

...a cyberattack.

Janet Napolitano is the director of homeland security. She told the Christian Science Monitor that in her opinion a cyberthreat is especially potent threat "in part because it is a rapidly growing area. It is by nature international in scope. There are no international conventions really to hang your hat on, so we are really dealing in a very amorphous world."

The Associated Press takes a broader look at the safety of the country as the 10-year anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks nears.
